GKinetic is delighted to announce that we are now a member of Ocean Energy Europe (OEE), the largest network of ocean energy professionals in the world. Over 120 organisations, including Europe’s leading utilities, industrialists and research institutes, trust OEE to represent the interests of Europe’s ocean energy sector. OEE are doing fantastic work in ‘fighting the corner’ for the development of renewable ocean energy and ensuring that developers such as GKinetic are getting fairly represented and considered in new policy creation and the shaping of new funding programmes.

Ocean Energy Europe’s mission is to create a strong environment for the development of ocean energy, improve access to funding, and enhance business opportunities for its members. To achieve this, OEE engages with the European Institutions (Commission, Parliament, Council, EIB, etc), and national ministries on policy issues affecting the sector.

The results are undeniable: in past four years the sector’s profile has increased significantly, and the EU has emerged as a major driver of the industry.

CEO of Ocean Energy Europe, Mr Rémi Gruet had the following to say on GKinetic’s membership:

“I am pleased to welcome GKinetic Energy Ltd to the largest network of ocean energy professionals in the world. By working with innovative companies such as GKinetic, Ocean Energy Europe is able to represent the best interests of the sector as we drive its development forward.”

OEE is a not-for-profit organisation, where every euro invested is used to promote the European ocean energy industry. GKinetic is excited to come on-board and looks forward to what benefits and opportunities the group will bring. The calibre of fellow members and partners is a huge networking asset in its own right so we look forward to getting to know everyone!

Every year, the OEE also host a conference and exhibition and this year it will be held at the Convention Centre Dublin from the 30th September to 1st October. Vincent has been invited to speak at the event on 1st October 2019 from 10:45 – 12:00 in the session ‘Reducing LCOE – Maximising production while minimising CAPEX’. The session will focus on how to reduce the LCOE through technological improvements: specifically increasing yield of devices or reducing CAPEX and Vincent will be giving an overview on how the GKinetic technology addresses these issues.

The event is a meeting point for the whole ocean energy sector and every cent of the proceeds is spent on lobbying and communication activities to promote and develop European ocean energy. GKinetic looks forward to attending and speaking at the event.
