GKinetic are kicking off the New Year with an exciting announcement. We have expanded our team further with a new hire of a Mechanical Design Engineer, Gary Brennan. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the area of hydrokinetic turbines and we are delighted to have him on board!
Background
Gary previously operated his own Architectural Technology service for 8 years specialising in draughting, surveying & Certification and developing extensive experience in design, client liaison and time management. During that time, he developed an interest in renewable energy and energy conservation which eventually drove him to return to University to study Energy Systems Engineering. He completed an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Energy Systems at NUI Galway.
Experience
In 2015, he secured an industry placement with Smart Hydro Power in Germany, where he up-skilled on hydrokinetic systems and bathymetry, working across several roles. He even worked in Peru for some time carrying out detailed site analysis and hardware upgrades to deployed island grid systems in the Amazon Basin. (Fun Fact: Gary is fluent in Spanish!)
He has industry experience spanning design, deployments, operations & maintenance and planning and permitting specific to hydrokinetics and is highly knowledgeable in the area of distributed energy systems, battery storage and community scale energy solutions.
Welcome
We look forward to working alongside Gary as GKinetic enters this next exciting phase of commercial deployments.
