Roisin McCormack, COO of GKinetic along with Vincent McCormack, CEO of GKinetic, attended and presented at a jam packed conference in Madrid, Spain. The event was “WEX Global” , the Water and Energy Exchange Event. Business discussions and connections in the water industry lie at the heart of WEX, along with the principle of exchanging ideas, philosophies, business opportunities and methodologies.

Spread over 3 days it included one to one pre-arranged business meetings, topic forums, keynote speakers and a gala awards dinner. Being GKinetics first time at the event, happily expectations were met and surpassed.  It was a well run event with particular thanks to Mark Barker and his team. Participants were made to feel welcome and the value of being in attendance was proven with connections made throughout Europe, US and beyond.

Roisin pitched on behalf of GKinetic as part of the ‘Innovation Forum’ and is quoted to say “ it was honestly one of the most enjoyable pitching sessions I’ve ever taken part in thanks to the great fellow companies (PRONOE, Juan Buceta & Nicolas Sdez, Spatial Insight, Ignaz Worm, Samotics, Pau Sanabras) and excellent judging panel including Frank Rogalla, Piers Clark, Laura Tegethoff and Juan Manuel Revuelta Perez

The overriding atmosphere was one of a friendly community working together to assist and further the global goals of sustainability. Highlighting and solving the problems of the water industry and to make connections that will endure into the future.

As a company for whom sustainability is at the core of what they do, GKinetic is very mindful of their impact on the environment and doesn’t take the decision to attend such conferences lightly. Having done extensive research, and weighing up the pros and cons of emissions etc, they are very selective about the events they attend and are very happy to say that all in all WEX Global is an event that they would recommend others in the water industry to attend.
