“OC1” at the Limerick Docks in October, 2015

GKinetic Energy have been awarded €95,600 from the SEAI Prototype Development Fund. This funding will support the next phase of development and allow GKinetic to utilise the best resources.

In October 2015, the company successfully deployed and demonstrated a 10kW device in the Limerick Docks, a custom test facility setup by collaborating with Shannon Foynes Port Company. GKinetic will re-deploy in early 2017 for more advanced testing. Design modifications will be headed by machine build partners, DesignPro Ltd., while Numerics Warehouse will lead the hydrodynamic work.

NUI Galway, MaREI, Shannon Foynes Port Company and UCC will also be instrumental during this next phase.
